Brief Description: 3rd slide in series, showing what is probably the true source of the river.
Subject Date: 1911
Creator: Parker, W
Owner: Oxfordshire CC
Contributor: Centre for Oxfordshire Studies

Full Description: Probably the true source of the river, about half a mile below the Thames Head. The spring at this point is never dry, and you will observe, that there is a common hand pump fixed over the spring itself. There appears to be no connection between this spring and the one above, and therefore, one may justly conclude, that if the source of the river is on this branch at all, it is at this spot. From this spot, this river flows through 9 counties. Gloucestershire , Wiltshire, Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Surrey, Middlesex, Kent and Essex., finally delivering itself into the Northern Ocean.
