Full Description: Bablock Hythe Ferry, 123 miles from London Bridge, one of those old-fashioned Ferry Boats, in reality a floating bridge, by which not only people, but horses carts and carriages are conveyed bodily across. - - The navigation is performed by the Ferryman pulling at the strong rope which crosses the river attached on either side to upright posts fastened securely on the shore. |
