Full Description: It was decided in 1868 to make Kew Bridge free of tolls along with six other bridges between Surrey and Middlesex. Up till then the tolls had been 1/2d for each foot passenger and 6d for each horse both going and returning. This picture commemorates the celebrations of the ending of tolls in February 1873
