| Full Description: Crowded scene at Brandenburgh House in Hammersmith, home of Queen Caroline (the estranged wife of George IV) with watermen arriving with an address to the Queen. Caroline had been separated from her husband for many years but was determined to be crowned when he succeeded to the throne. In the event, despite much popular support for her, the doors of Westminster Abbey were shut to her when she tried to attend the coronation and she died shortly afterwards. |
