Full Description: Tilbury is the place where Queen Elizabeth reviewed her troops when the realm was threatened by the Spanish Armada. - Gravesend has a long history being mentioned in the Doomsday Book, and used to be resorted to very much for the sake of Rosherville Gardens, which had a reputation for Tea and shrimps and other like delicacies. The good folk of Gravesend can serve up shrimps in ways so various and so tempting, that it is said, people can dine off shrimps alone. Whitebait is also caught there in great profusion. - |
